TYPE OF WORK PERFORMED:

 

B&W Y-12 announces the establishment of an apprenticeship program in the following crafts: Boilermakers/Blacksmiths, Carpenters, Electricians, Insulators, Ironworker/Riggers, Outside Machinists/Millwrights, Painters, Pipefitters, Welders, and AC&R Mechanics. 

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

Eligibility for admission into the program requires a high school diploma or GED, must be at least 18 years of age, and register, complete, and pass an aptitude test. 

 

 

REMARKS:

 

Applicants can register for the aptitude test and pick up an application packet beginning Monday, June 9 - Friday June 13, from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Y-12 New Hope Center, 602 Scarboro Rd, Oak Ridge, TN.  All applicants will be required to pay an $18 registration fee for the test (only cashier checks or money orders payable to “B&W Y-12” will be accepted).  Internal Applications will not be taken any other way.  Internal applicants will be required to meet the same requirements as the external applicants. 

 

 

APPLIES TO INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY:  Employees in the bargaining unit represented by the ATLC have contractual rights to be considered for all vacancies before employees outside the bargaining unit.  Selection will be made in accordance with the APPRENTICE TRAINING STANDARDS.

 

You must bring your completed application packet with you on the date of your test.  All questions will be addressed at this time.  You must have your completed packet to take the aptitude test.
